In addition, having acquired their degrees both in the US and in France, the two French native partners have an extensive knowledge of both cultures and legal systems, and are hence exceptionally well qualified to represent clients who live or have interests outside the United States.

Ingrid Berger


Ingrid Berger is admitted to practice in the states of California and New York. She completed her JD and a Masters degree in France. She went on to obtain her L.L.M. in U.S. Legal Studies and her L.L.M. in Taxation (with honors) from Golden Gate University School of Law.

Ingrid Berger has extensive experience in domestic, business and international estate and trust planning, as well as in asset protection planning. Her ability to listen and understand clients' needs allows the design and implementation of carefully tailored plans and solutions. Whether simple or complex, she handles every client and his or her particular situation with attention, thoroughness and professionalism.

Peggy Nicholson


Peggy Burnet Nicholson is admitted to practice in the states of California and New York. She attended law school in France where she received a JD and a Masters degree. She also obtained a law degree from the University Paris I Pantheon-La Sorbonne in European and international law, and a Master of Business Administration at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. She went on to obtain her L.L.M. in U.S. Legal Studies and her L.L.M. in Taxation (with honors) from Golden Gate University School of Law.

Peggy Burnet Nicholson's experience includes estate planning, with a focus on the administration of trusts after death, and probate. Her ability to assess and design tools and techniques for the effective administration of plans, including alternatives to probate, as well as to guide clients through the difficult probate process when necessary, adds great strength to Berger, Nicholson, LLP.
