Estate Planning
Estate planning is the process of planning, during your lifetime, for the management of your assets in case of incapacity, and the disposal of your assets upon death.
A standard estate plan includes the following documents:
- Revocable Trust (including transfer of real property)
- Last will (along with guardianship provisions when applicable)
- Power of Attorney for Finances
- Health Care Directive and HIPAA Authorization
Implementation of the estate plan, through follow-ups, funding instructions, and reviews, is a crucial part of our process.
To initiate the process, contact us and we will send you our estate planning questionnaire. Then, we will schedule our initial meeting to go over your personal situation.
Trust Administration
We help trustees understand their fiduciary duties and navigate the various steps in administering a trust upon the death of its creator, including but not limited to providing proper notification to the beneficiaries and heirs, preparing an inventory, properly allocating the trust assets, and distributing such assets to the beneficiaries. We also assist trustees with Heggstad petitions.
Probate
We assist executors or administrators through the challenges of probate, which is the court process to transfer title of assets held in decedent’s name from a decedent’s estate to his/her beneficiaries or heirs. Our guidance covers the entire process, from the opening of the probate, until the final distribution to the beneficiaries or heirs.
